Making a Reservation

Please contact us to check availability of dates requested. Deposit of £ 100 payable by cheque or bank transfer on booking. Balance of payment to be paid 8 weeks prior to arrival date. Bookings will be held for 7 days only and pending receipt of deposit. Failing which after that, the provisional booking will be cancelled. On receipt of deposit the booking will be confirmed by email. Bookings within 8 weeks of arrival date are payable in full.

Arrivals & Departures

Your cottage will be ready for you by 4pm, and the property must be vacated by 10am on day of departure. Please ensure you call the person listed on your welcome/receipt of balance email and who looks after our cottage at least 48 hrs prior to your arrival so that they can make their own personal arrangements around the time of your arrival. You will be welcomed by them and shown around the cottage and any questions replied. Any arrivals after 5pm should be notified in advance and the “meet and greet” welcome might not always be guaranteed so other arrangements might be made to get access to cottage.

Cleaning

The property should be left clean and tidy on departure and any damages must be reported prior to departure. Property left in a dirty or inappropriate manner may result in an additional cleaning surcharge

Pets

Pets are welcome at Harris White Cottage as long as they come with own bedding and not allowed on sofas or beds. There is a nominal charge of £25/dog max two. When two dogs are in residence we require a caution deposit of £100 (payable with balance of booking) which will be fully refunded as long as no damages occur.

Smoking

No smoking on premises.

All damages and losses will be charged in full

Occupancy

The occupancy of the cottage should not extend beyond the number stated in the booking form. Maximum of 4 people incl children.

Vehicles/Personal Property

As well as cancellation and curtailment insurance, clients are recommended to take out holiday insurance to cover loss or damage to personal effects. Vehicles, accessories and contents are left at their owners risk. The proprietors will not be responsible for any loss or damage or any injury to persons not caused through the fault of the proprietor.

Holiday Protection

To minimise the cost and inconvenience of cancelled bookings we would strongly advise you to take out holiday insurance as you may have to forfeit the full cost of your holiday in most cases.

Restriction on Rental

We reserve the right to remove person or persons from the property due to unreasonable behaviour, damage to the property or exceeding the stated occupancy. In this case refund will be at the discretion of the owners.

Adverse Travel Conditions

Where there are ferry/plane disruptions due to bad weather conditions or any form of industrial action, Harris White Cottage cannot be held responsible for non-arrival at the cottage and no refunds will be given.

Cancellation

If you require to cancel a reservation for any reason please notify us by telephone immediately and e confirm same in writing within 5 days. In the event of a cancellation we will make every effort to re-let the booking and you will be reimbursed in full. However we strongly advise that you take out insurance cover to prevent the following additional costs. If we are unable to re-let, cancellation costs will be incurred as follows: More than 8 weeks before booking commences your deposit will be forfeited Less than 8 weeks you will be liable to pay the full cost of rental (i.e. deposit & full balance)

Availability

Each booking is made in good faith with the belief that the cottage will be available to the tenant on date stated. If for any reason due to circumstances outwith our control, the cottage is not available, we are unable to guarantee provision of alternative accommodation. In the event of this happening the deposit and full balance will be refunded in full. The tenant will have no further claim against the proprietor. To improve the facilities within the cottage the proprietors reserve the right to alter or amend the facilities made available at Harris White Cottage.
